 Other Local Boards
The community planning process can generate a large number of impacts. For example, the decision to convert agricultural land to a residential use pattern will likely affect a community's educational system, as well as the local transportation, water, sewer, police, fire, and emergency service systems. One strategy for dealing with possible impacts involves the use of an internal review process (coordinated by the municipal manager or planning director) wherein relevant local boards and commissions, as well as other local government departments, would review proposed plans and planning projects for possible impact. This style of internal communication helps minimize "unforeseen" planning consequences.
