| The Fletcher Free Library in Burlington, whose Carnegie library building dates to 1904. Status: The Carnegie library building celebrated its centennial in 2004 with lectures looking back at life in Burlington 100 years earlier. The day the library opened, it shared front page billing in the local newspaper with news of the victory of the Burlington's Northern League baseball team.
