  • 1000 Friends of Florida has as one of its goals fighting urban sprawl. Their Web site includes information on growth management issues across the state.

  • Eastward-Ho!, a South Florida planning organization is focusing on slowing down sprawl development. According to the organization, "Eastward Ho! is intended to be the engine to promote mixed-use development, help governments fund new and expanded infrastructure, stimulate infill development/ redevelopment, encourage moderately higher urban densities, increase varieties of housing and improve housing affordability in the tri-county region."

  • Florida is home to a growing number of "new urbanism" projects. The most widely known is Seaside, one of the first such developments. Others include the Disney town of Celebration, as well as projects being developed by the St. Joseph Company. For more on new urbanism, including Seaside.
