  • The Pennsylvania Environmental Council and 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania are two statewide organization that are addressing a range of land use issues, including sprawl.

  • The 21st Century Environment Commission, formed by then Governor Thomas Ridge in 1997 to define Pennsylvania's environmental priorities, released its draft report in June 1998. It includes a fairly lengthy section dealing with the environmental, economic, and social consequences of sprawl. The draft report also includes several recommendations for dealing with sprawl.
